HOME/SOLUTIONS/Campus Network

CAMPUS NETWORK MODERNISATION

The network was installed a decade ago, the vendor is gone, and every enrollment period brings the same complaints: Wi-Fi drops in lecture halls, the LMS crawls, and nobody has a current diagram. You need it replaced without stopping teaching.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE AT THE END

  • Every building on 10G fiber uplinks to a redundant core
  • Wi-Fi 6/6E coverage in every classroom, verified by a signal survey report
  • One dashboard for the entire campus — every switch, every AP
  • PoE+ at every access point and camera, no local power adapters
  • Documented as-built: diagrams, configs, cable schedules you own
  • 4-hour hardware replacement path for core components (support tier dependent)
  • Migration executed building-by-building — no teaching-day outages by design

PROVEN IN THE FIELD

The same Edgecore platform runs campus networks at national scale. These are Edgecore's public deployments — Photon State designs and delivers this solution in Thailand on the same platform.

Bureau of Education, Tainan City Government

TAIWAN · 2022

Working through Chunghwa Telecom, Tainan's education bureau standardized campus wireless across its elementary and middle schools on Edgecore controllers, indoor and outdoor APs, and 10GbE switching, all administered centrally via ECNMS. The network spans 275 schools with about 6,000 access points reaching classrooms, teaching areas, and playgrounds for e-learning use.

Hamamatsu Kaiseikan Junior & Senior High School

JAPAN · 2023

This Japanese school deployed Edgecore 60GHz Terragraph links and Wi-Fi 6 access points through Tokyo partner BeMap to cover its main buildings and two arena buildings, bridging a separate structure about 350 meters away without trenching fiber. The live network supports tablet-based AI and ICT learning with OpenRoaming authentication.

National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU)

TAIWAN · 2021

NYCU's Hsinchu campus went live in 2021 as one of the world's first production OpenWiFi networks, running Edgecore EAP101 Wi-Fi 6 access points under a CloudSDK controller for student connectivity. The university and Edgecore also co-run an OpenWiFi development sandbox where graduate students build services against the platform's OpenAPI.

QUESTIONS BUYERS ASK

Are the products NBTC type-approved?
We confirm NBTC type approval per model as part of TOR support and list approval numbers in the BOM before purchase.
What is the hardware warranty?
Manufacturer warranty passed through per SKU; exact terms are stated line-by-line in the BOM. Extended coverage is available under the service tiers.
Typical lead times?
Confirmed per BOM at quotation; we design around SKUs with healthy stock and state lead time per line item.
Can you migrate without downtime during term time?
Cutover is staged per building outside teaching hours with rollback points; the migration plan is a signed deliverable before work starts.
We have existing Cisco/HPE gear — coexistence?
Yes. The design documents interop boundaries (routing, VLANs, spanning tree) and we phase replacement so both estates run side-by-side.
Who supports it after handover?
Photon State, from Bangkok, under the tier you choose — from next-business-day hardware to fully managed operation.
